Celebrate Winter

Archeon opens the gates for "Celebrate Winter". This winter you can enjoy the typical Dutch winter in Museum Park Archeon. Enjoy the winter atmosphere in prehistoric times, with the Romans and in the medieval town of Gravendam.

All 43 buildings, farms and huts in Archeon are inhabited by the residents and are completely furnished for the winter. The fire is crackling and it is wonderfully warm. The bronze caster is busy casting bronze objects. The first farmers, hunebed builders and hunters are busy working with flint and making fire and you can enjoy the stories of yesteryear.

With the Romans you experience the winter atmospheres of yesteryear. Discover the heated bathhouse with the exhibition 'World full of Gods'. Participate in the Roman drill and make a Roman Sigillaria.

On the Roman Restoration Wharf "De Zwammerdam 2" can be admired and here is an exhibition about the excavations and the restoration of the Zwammerdam ships.

In the Middle Ages it is very busy. It is winter and there is a lot of work in the house. The blacksmith, the baker and the weaver like to show their craft. Candles are made and you can make a felt bracelet. On the market, the swordsman teaches you different techniques with the sword and archery should not be missed.

Enjoy the wonderful Christmas atmosphere and discover the special crafts.
The park is festively lit and warm firepits have been made in various places.
A special route has been created at the park (because of Corona) and there is plenty to do on this route.

Ice rink
This year the ice rink is again in Archeon, visitors can enter the mirror-smooth ice rink at Archeon again this year.
