Information about the schooltrip


Arrival
From 9:45 a.m. you are most welcome at our entrance building. The supervisors report the arrival of the group to our cash register staff. You receive:

  • Day program, which lists the activities * in which the students can participate.
    * Activities: including face painting, making fire, baking bun, archery, sword fighting, felting bracelet, making candle, exercising, making fibula
  • Map.
  • Passport (for every primary school student).
  • Voucher for collecting the packages of drinks, the ice creams and possibly your lunch.
  • Return ticket.

Lunch
If you have reserved lunch you will hear at the entrance the time and place where you can have your lunch.
You can eat your own lunch at various places in the park; at the Herberg, the Klooster and at the playground. We cannot reserve a place for a self-brought lunch.

Roman Museum / Archeology house South Holland
In the farmhouse - Villa van Rijswijk - you can view more than 600 finds after the introductory film about prehistory, Roman times and the Middle Ages. You can see, hear and experience the stories and customs behind these finds. The Roman Museum can be visited during the day.

Shows and demonstrations

2.00 pm Temple ceremony at the Temple of Nehalennia.
2.30 pm Gladiator fight in the Arena. The Gladiator fight lasts approximately 30 minutes. You are requested to be on time and not to leave the Arena during the show.*


Departure
Archeon closes at 4 p.m. and on Wednesday at 5 p.m. If you visit the Gladiator Fight, you can leave from the parking lot from 3:30 pm.*

* During the school holidays below, the gladiator fight is at 3:30 pm, the park is open until 5:00 pm during these school holidays:
Summer vacation from July 20 to September 1, 2019
Autumn vacation from 21 to 25 October 2019
May vacation from April 28 to May 1, 2020

Activity Tour

Under the supervision of an Archeotolk, the students are introduced to the working and living history of prehistoric hunters, Roman soldiers and / or medieval artisans. The tours include different activities.
